Our team brings experience in internal medicine, insurance medicine, pharmacy, health informatics, and enterprise technology. We have built products and systems that put complex health data to work. At Gesund, those perspectives come together to interpret medical evidence across conditions, sources, and time, helping life insurers see a clearer clinical picture.
Scott has worked with health data from the hospital bedside to the underwriting desk. After a decade in hospital pharmacy leadership, he moved into life-insurance informatics and product development at Milliman IntelliScript. There, he helped architect what has been called life insurance’s last health-data breakthrough: bringing medical claims into underwriting.
Today, Scott leads Gesund and remains close to the technology. His work spans clinical data interpretation and applied AI, including generative AI, LLM workflows, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and AI agents. He takes the business seriously, but he still thinks like a pharmacist: start with the evidence, understand the context, then work out what it means. He believes life insurance underwriting can change because he has helped change it before.

Bryan is an engineer at heart and a technology leader who has spent more than 25 years turning complex problems into enterprise software. He began as a hands-on developer, then grew into architecture, technical leadership, and guiding sizable teams through major projects. At NVISIA, he helped build enterprise data platforms at scale, including healthcare platforms capturing information for 2–3 million patient lives.
At Gesund, Bryan leads the technology behind a platform designed to make sense of complex health data and reconstruct the applicant’s clinical story across sources and time. A dedicated athlete, he brings a player-coach mindset to the job: hands-on with the technical details, disciplined about execution, and focused on getting the whole team across the finish line.

Steve brings a physician’s perspective shaped by more than 25 years in life-insurance medical direction, alongside nearly two decades in internal medicine. Those roles overlapped: he practiced while serving as a life-underwriting medical director at State Farm, then continued in medical leadership at USAA. There, he advised on more than 5,000 complex underwriting cases annually and helped advance the use of electronic medical records in life insurance underwriting.
At Gesund, he brings that experience to interpreting clinical evidence across conditions and time, clarifying what the record supports and where uncertainty remains. He is excited about the possibilities AI brings to life insurance and clinical medicine, and feels privileged to be part of a forward-thinking team at Gesund Health Data. The underwriting decision stays with the carrier.

Katie Breath brings enterprise sales experience in healthcare informatics, with work across interoperability, health information exchange, and imaging solutions grounded in healthcare IT and clinical workflows. Her career includes GE Healthcare, Philips, Medidata, and Milliman IntelliScript, spanning imaging IT, connected data, and EHR partnerships. At Gesund, she brings that experience to product strategy and market fit. Her sweet spot is the messy middle: translating complex health data into solutions customers can use.

We’ll return the structured clinical picture, every finding linked to its source, and you can check it against what your underwriters found.
